Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of clients have you worked with?

I have counseling experience with adults and adolescents in a range of environments from partial hospitalization to outpatient settings, in both individual and group therapy. I help clients with experiences of: Childhood and adulthood trauma, Dissociative disorders, Crippling anxiety & panic attacks, Difficult relationships, Addictions & disordered eating, Grief & loss, including pregnancy loss, Recent or ongoing traumatic experiences, and Complex PTSD.

What kind of EMDR experience do you have?

I have unique EMDR experience from working with complex trauma cases, modifying for dissociative disorders, modifying for clients needing different approaches to standard protocol (for traumatic brain injury, neurodivergence, ect), and group EMDR.

What makes you unique from other EMDR consultants?

I bring my unique EMDR experience and an attentive curiosity to equip you with practical and effective tools to implement with your clients. I will teach you how to strike a balance between adherence to standard protocol and individualizing care, entering into the dance of EMDR. While many clinicians shy away, out of fear of losing control within processing, I will teach you how to feel confident adhering to the phases and stepping with the client into the unknown.

What are you NOT about?

I am not about: Rigid adherence to standard protocol that ignores the needs of your clients. Loose application of standard protocol that loses the underlying intention of the 8 phases. Getting caught up in a client’s sense of urgency for resolution and cutting corners. Moving clients into processing without adequate Phase 2 work, or they demonstrate flags for needing additional Phase 2 that are unseen or ignored.

What is the benefit of a group consultation?

I hold group consultations because they are more cost effective, give an opportunity to learn from peers in addition to the consultant, and create community so us clinicians do not have to feel like we practice in isolated islands.

What can someone expect in their first meeting?

In our first meeting, I let you set your own agenda; we talk about your goals for consultation both short term and long term (if you want to pursue Certification or not), jump into any of your cases, and gain resources and practical tips to bring directly into your own practice.
